Creator:
Clearihue, Joseph B.
Description:
Item is a hand embroidered silk postcard made in France or Belgium during the First World War. The silk "envelope" holds a small, printed, card. These souvenir cards were popular with soldiers who often sent them home with letters. For the empbroidery work, a home business during the war, a pattern would be repeated on a single piece of silk.
