Item is a letter opener created by Georges, Guy and Paul Destrubé during the First World War. It is an example of "trench art", which are, pieces made by soldiers at the Front using scrap metal from the battlefield. The handle is a shell casing. The blade is engraved, "France 1916 - Maurice & Mag."
