[start page] Monday which I did, so I am a foreman of the tool room, but the works manager is a son of a bitch. He expects me to have the run of the shop straight away. I have been feeling very much like saying "merde" but since to day he as come round a bit, perhaps the boss has said some to him. Any how he is like that with every body, and they <del>ll</del> tell me to take no notice of what he says, my colegues are all nice fellows that is one good thing. If things in the future don't turn out all right I shall "quit" as there is any amount of work at good wages. Syl don't say to Dick <del>who</del> any thing about this tell him I am all right. I felt a bit lonely the first few days, but I have a lot of work that I don't think about it now, but you poor old girl I bet you <del>fall</del> fall a bit [1 word] We are making sheets 75 [1 word] [end page]

[start page] that is all that is being made all over the country. I am living at our hotel in a room and I have my meals out. I am to be payed by the month but the rate has not been decided on, as soon as I see the boss I will ask him, and if not satisfactory will go else where. I rather think that things will turn out all right, it is my miserable nervousness that make me like this; it is rotten. You will like to know how my room is, well it is at the 4th floor on the street, has electric light, polished <del>ok</del> oak washstand wardrobe, table le nuit, & panted walls.
