Destrubé family - Photograph of A Company Piquet with note from Georges on reverse, 1 of 2 copies
Description:
Item is a photographic postcard depicting Georges, Guy and Paul Destrubé as part of A Company Piquet. On the reverse, Georges describes how Picquet duty works in camp. Possibly Clipstone, England.
Am afraid this photo wont interest you
much-- you will see Paul in the front
rank. Guy & I are in the rear rank & therefore
out of sight. Some of our best friends
are there. It is an Inlying Piquet
which stays around camp in case
of fire or alarm. Our turn comes
round about every 4 weeks & we
are then on it for a week, after 6 o'clock
in the evening.
