Description:
A view in cross-section of a friable ivory tusk found in association with an anvil stone (GS 09-32) in an area (mound 6) that archaeologists interpret as a metallurgical workshop. A semicircular portion of the tusk can be seen encased in dirt. Though poorly preserved, Schreger Lines diagnostic of elephant ivory were observed in the specimen. Scale in cm.
