Description:: The gravel quarry in Puerto Baquerizo lies directly to thenortheast of the airport. The quarried volcanic rock is used for most construction products, and especially in the completion of the modern paved road through the island, completed in 2015. The quarry has been substantially reduced in size since this photo was taken in 2012.
