Description:: Feral groves of exotic Datura are common around El Progreso. The plant was imported often to be used as a surround for gardens and agricultural plots in order to deter predation of crops.

Description:: Although impossible to substantiate, exotic rats may have been the earliest introduced alien on the islands. They could easily have been introduced as ships were careened and "smoked" on islands from early times. They are today particularly widespread, having invaded at least 36 islands where they prey on the eggs and young of reptiles and birds.
