Consulate General Yang's Announcement - Consulate General Yang of Canada has made a public notice: He received a letter from the Deputy Minister of Law from Canada. It stated that, for the recent question on whether the Chinese born in Canada were compelled for military service, according to the law, those who became Canadian citizens or who were born in Canada are duty-bound to enter military service. However, Canadian Forces Recruiting has the temporary policy of not enlisting Chinese-Canadians. As a result, the Chinese with Canadian citizenship or those born in Canada have been waived from compulsory military service. I recorded the content here to inform all the Chinese overseas that live in Canada. (September 23rd, 1918)
