English translation: Avoid working on this vessel - Yesterday a friend told me, the transcriber of this story: In May last year, my friend and I worked on a barque vessel as the kitchen helpers. The name of the vessel was "Puako", and it shipped boards of wood to South Africa. The ship-owner was cruel and violent, with no pity for others. My friend was tied to one of the masts and whipped hard. It was very painful. He was then shut in a dark room for one week, and only got a cup of water and a piece of bread for each meal. Chinese workers, please avoid this terrible experience and do not work on the vessel.
